Breakfast Bars
You Will Need
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups oats
2 eggs
1/2 cup canola oil

1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup diced apples (or 1/2 cup dried apples)
1 cup walnuts

Note:
These easy-to-make bars store well in the freezer.  If you prepackage them in small baggies, they make a great on-the-go breakfast.
Serves 12
What To Do
Preheat oven to 350ºF

In a large bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, dry milk, brown sugar, and oats with a spoon. Mix in all remaining ingredients.
Pat into oiled or nonstick 9x12 baking dish.
Bake for 1/2 hour. Slice into squares or bars.

Variations:
  • Use pecans, peanuts or almonds in place of walnuts
  • Use 1/2 cup raisins or diced apricots in place of apples.  Add 1/2 cup applesauce.
  • Use blueberries instead of apples.
